Merlin Rocket Class

The Merlin Rocket is a high performance, 14ft, 2-person, 3-sail dinghy with a long development history. All you need to know and more can be found at the excellent Merlin Rocket Owners' Association website, www.merlinrocket.co.uk.


At CRSC, the Merlin Rockets compete in their own Class during the Spring and Summer Series. During the shorter Winter Series, they join other Classes in the Handicap fleet.

Merlin Open weekend - Sat/Sun 24th/25th April 2010

This year's Merlin Open weekend comprised 3 sailing events:

  • de May Vintage Series - 3 races (vintage handicap) for boats more than 30 years old, ie: No.3224 or lower.

    • Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions.

  • Guy Pearce Memorial Trophy - 1 race (non-handicap), run concurrently with the 3rd Vintage Series race.

  • Cookham Shield - 3 races (non-handicap).

    The Cookham Reach is ideal for spectators and photographers, with excellent viewing along the Berkshire bank of the River Thames. There are plenty of pictures from 2010 and previous years on 'Photo Bank'.
